About CryptoBorne
CryptoBorne works out what crypto really costs — the fees, spreads and taxes that apps leave off the first screen.
Most crypto comparison pages rank whoever pays the most. We wanted the opposite: a calculator that takes each provider's published fee schedule, runs your numbers through it, and shows the result even when the cheapest answer is a plain index-style product that pays nobody a commission.
What we promise
- A source and a date on every number. Fees come from the provider's own fee page; tax figures come from the IRS. Each one shows when it was last checked.
- The honest baseline is always in the table. If a spot-Bitcoin ETF in an ordinary brokerage IRA is cheaper than every crypto IRA, the calculator says so.
- No predictions. We never forecast prices. You choose the growth assumption; we only do the arithmetic.
- Your figures stay on your device. Calculators run in your browser. A holdings file you load is read locally and never uploaded.
- Payment never moves a ranking. See the disclosures.
What we will not do
No paid buy or sell signals, no paid token promotion, no promotion of offshore leveraged-futures exchanges, and no invented testimonials, user counts or returns.
Corrections
Fee schedules change without notice. If a number here is out of date, the provider's own page is the authority. How each figure is gathered and tested is on the methodology page.
Tax-season reminders, and nothing else
One short email before each date that costs money to miss: the 31 December harvest cut-off, the week 1099-DA forms arrive, and filing day.
